Natchez High students failing at high rate

She does have a few problems with some of the boys harrassing her although their not picking on her telling her how fat she is or telling everybody she s a hoe, or talking about her cheap shoes. See i only wish my parents had of sent me to natchez high. Because you get a totally different way of how to respect and act towards all kinds of people, ( black, white, poor, wealthy, hispanic,) you name it their there. And at cathedral i didnt get that i was taught by parents (to whom acted just like their children) and the teachers, along with the principle, that if you dont have money or your not born into the social class then your not apart weather you pay or not. My child is four and i have the money to send him to cathedral but why would i want to intruduce my child to the cruel ways of snobbs? No not all are just the maj!! Its sad and not mentioned much, but its all true!! No i wasnt the most popular although i tell you i had many friends that which i grad with that still are my friends just the same as most would.

Raiding the Himalayas

The state chapter of the Society for Promoting of Indian Classical Music and Culture Among Youth (SPIC MACAY) has come into existence more than 30 years the organisation was founded.

A senior state administrative services officer, Ms Purnima Chauhan, who is herself an accomplished singer, has been aptly made its chairperson. She has not lost much time in making the organisation functional by arranging concerts in various educational institutions in the state capital.

The inaugural event, a performance by noted Kathakali Dancer, Kalamandlam Gopi, was held at the St. Bedes College. It was a good learning experience for the young students as the nuances of Kathakali were explained in detail during the performance. It not only requires dancing skills but also a high degree of physical fitness for which the performers have to work vary hard.

UT-Austin leery of opening a medical school

Whether Austin will ever get a medical school is a long-standing question fraught with politics, money and bureaucracy. This much has become clear recently: The University of Texas System is eager to establish such a school, but its flagship campus in Austin is not so sure it wants to be the host.

If a medical school were to be opened here, it's more likely it would be a satellite of one of the UT System medical campuses in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Galveston rather than a unit of UT-Austin. The UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas is studying the feasibility of a branch in Austin.

Matthews unveils Clinton plan to make higher education more accessible

Increasing a tuition tax credit, increasing Pell grants and simplifying the student aid process are a few of the proposals Democratic presidential candidate U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton campaign officials unveiled Thursday morning as part of her effort to make college more affordable and accessible.Sen. John Matthews, a state co-chair of the Clinton presidential campaign, presented Clinton's educational plan during a press conference held on the s.jpg of Claflin University's Tingley Memorial Hall.Speaking to about 20 students gathered behind him, Matthews stressed the impact Clinton's plan would have on them and thousands of other college students."If we can reduce your cost to go to college, more of our children will have access and all of us will be better off," Matthews said. "This plan is intended to make sure that lower income students have a chance to compete in this knowledge-based economy by getting a college degree and reducing your burden when you get out of college.

ALEXANDER: "I'm not quitting" over donor crisis

When people face the danger of a criminal prosecution under the 2000 (Elections) Act then normally you step aside from your position so you can concentrate on clearing your name, if that's what her intention is."

Lord Maxton, the former Glasgow Cathcart MP, and Baroness Adams, who was Labour MP for Paisley North, have written to the police urging them to investigate whether the Sunday Herald broke the law by revealing they had given money to Ms Alexander's campaign. They claim that, as the donations were less than £1000, their anonymity should have been protected.

Last night Sunday Herald editor Richard Walker said: "Of all the issues facing the Labour Party just now, the one that should be the least concerning them is how matters of legitimate public concern get into the public domain."

Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission has given Ms Alexander until tomorrow to provide it with information about her donations.

A TV Ad For Obama

The opening salvo in the presidential air wars is a 30-second spot on health care to be broadcast in the Hartford-New Haven market and on cable systems in Fairfield County, said David Plouffe, Obama's campaign manager.

Plouffe declined to say if the campaign will invest in expensive television time in New York, the home turf of Hillary Rodham Clinton. But he said they will compete in New York, even if polls show they cannot win.

The winner-take-all rules of Republican primaries force GOP candidates to carefully target their resources, but the Democratic primaries are proportional races.

"You can aggregate delegates even in someone's backyard, like Sen. Clinton's," Plouffe said.

Plouffe called the Connecticut buy "substantial," but declined to give specifics.
